Our New Ride

After three months of riding the sardine can--also called the tram-- for transportation, we decided to head to the Maison de Vélo and get a new ride or vélo, french for bike, that is. Lucky for us, Bordeaux has a really cool program where you can get a bike for free, well almost. Basically, you fill out a form, give the city your bank information (so in the case the bike is stolen they can charge you), and you walk out with a new bike complete with lock!!!

Katie was excited as a kid on Christmas morning about getting her new bike. It is now her prefered method of transport. I have thought about asking her if she wanted to get a job for the post office, because she now wants to ride her bike-no matter what the conditions are outside! Rain, sleet, freezing cold, and I am sure if it snowed here, she would be riding around. Needless to say we are both enjoying our new way of getting around and are loving the exercise!
