Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?

Mustard. The word that comes to mind when someone says Dijon. We love mustard. Strong mustard. (which you can get really cheap here in France) For this reason we felt we needed to visit Dijon.

We wanted to visit the actual mustard factory but the tourism office told us that it had closed a few years back. (This is what happens when you have a 5 year old guide book) Where do they make Dijon mustard now??? Anyways, we were able to visit the Maille Boutique, the home of Maille and Grey Poupin.

Document from Emperor Napoléon, apparently he is a fan too.

Mustard on tap, I like it.

A wall of flavored mustard, mixing mustard with berries, herbs and more!

Next stop, the market.

A specialty of the region: Parsley and ham held together in a loaf shape by a clear, flavorless geletin.

Local cheese that we bought for lunch - Chaource.

Two More: Brie de Meaux and Cremeux de Bourgogne.

The back of the cathedral.

The front adorned with numerous gargoyles jutting out.

Gargoyles.
Inside the cathedral.

Rotiserie chicken flavored with herbs bought at the market for lunch . Very common here in France.

Les fromages.

Outside the cathedral, you are supposed to rub the chouette (owl) for good luck.
Looks like it has been rubbed a few times.
City hall

Random, free museum we stumbled upon.

Katie found a new friend or maybe the cat just smelled the leftover chicken.

Another cathedral. Now, we are off to check out the Burgundy wine region.
