Since our friends were flying out of Paris, we headed back to city of lights to explore.
This time we stayed on the other side of the river in the 10th arrondisement, which was right around the corner from la Basilique du Sacré Coeur. Pictured in the background here.
This is a great view point to take in the sprawl of the city. Anyone seen the movie, Amélie? This is where she leaves one of the clues and the guy looks through the telescope to find it. (sorry haven't seen the movie in awhile... going from my memory here.)
ahhhh. Get that girl a coffee stat. We still have to get through the Louvre.
Voila - The French are very good at presentation!
Wasn't this in some famous book or movie? ;)
The happy couple.
A peak out of the second story of the Louvre.
How cool would this be?? Art class at the Louvre!!! Seriously!!!
We both really like this painting.
Found this one interesting with the simpke colors gave the characters almost a marble look.
Egyptian jewelry. Thought that the snake bracelet and rings were cool designs.
The royal crowns of Louis XV, I believe. The room in which they are housed is immaculate!
The crowning of Napoléon. Another copy is featured at Versailles
"Liberty leading the people" or the cover art for the cd Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends. "I used to rule the world..."
A painting that encompasses the entire Passion of Christ.
Very detailed theater painting that I really liked.
